The Curve Runners we stock are featured in the Notions department of Threads magazine this month - issue #185 (June/July 2016).
The Curve Runner from SACurve is an innovative solution for measuring curves or any line. It's a rolling ruler made from clear acrylic, so you can see through its measuring wheel for accuracy. The handle is 1/8 inch thick, making it easy to grip and comfortable to use. The wheel is 1/16-inch thick for precision measuring. Just place the wheel's 0 marking at the beginning of the line or curve you wish to measure and roll it along the line. The Curve Runner has measurements marked to the sixteenth of an inch or to the millimeter, and it comes in four circumferences: 8-inch, 20-centimeter, 12-inch, and 30-centimeter.

Our June newsletter is out!
For those of you who go way back with us, you may remember our wool embroidered teddy bear that was our signature piece for several years. Well, the original prototype is now moving on to make space for our newer inventory. Check out details in the newsletter, or go right to our Etsy store to see this bear and others dating back to our beginnings. Some have already sold since the newsletter went out yesterday, but there are still several listed.
I have a loose leaf 2-ring binder from Ottobre Design that I'll like to give anyone who wants it. It's quite nice for storing your traced patterns. IT measures about 10" by 12" by 1.75". The first one who responds gets it. I just ask that you send $6 for shipping to get it to you. Thanks.
Ottobre Design magazine issue 3/2016 - the children's summer issue - has arrived. It is available on our website now. Domestic orders sent directly from here for faster delivery. Here's the link:
I've been away for the past couple of weeks, but back in full production now. Our newsletter was sent out this morning - always on the first of every month and ONLY on the first of every month, so you don't get inundated with too much. If you didn't get it sent to your inbox, here is a link:
Our April newsletter was sent out yesterday to everyone on our email list. If you didn't get it, you can still read it here or on the opening page of our website.
I'm sorry to say, but we have sold out of Inspirations 89, however, issue 90 (shown) will be here very soon.....along with Ottobre's summer issue for children - also shown.
Here's also a peak at the newest cat bed to offer an option to our cat caves.
I have several copies of each of these posters and want to give them away rather than just toss them.
Each one measures 11.5" x 16.5". They were intended for shop displays, but could also be used to decorate a sewing room or even be used as a book cover - do kids still cover their books??
Let me know how many you want and which issues - 85, 86, 87, and/or 88.
Off good while supplies last.
Here is a great reviewby Mary Corbet of Talliaferro's newest design - La Serenissima. We profiled this project in our most recent newsletter, but this is a very detailed review you might enjoy if you are on the fence about purchasing this pattern.
La Serenissima by Talliaferro - is finally here! It's taken literally years to complete this newest design. We've stocked several Talliaferro designs in the past and all have been big successes. Now have been waiting (somewhat) patiently for this newest design to arrive and today it is here! It is available with the original Heathway merino crewel wool or we also offer it with comparable Appleton colors. It's on our website and ready to ship....http://woolythread.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23&products_id=430
Mary Corbet's blog this morning is entitled "When you care enough, embroider your cards". I've received a few embroidered cards over the years and they are very special to me and I've kept them all. Here's a link to the blog post if you are interested in embroidering some cards of your own this season...
I may just do some myself this year for very special people.
Just want to chime in here and let you all know how much I enjoy what I do. Today I'm sitting in my cozy house with 25 degrees and snow outside. I'm connecting with the whole world via The Wooly Thread. I'm sending shipments to Lativa, Israel, France and the United Arab Emirates. Earlier this month, shipments went to Jordan, South Africa and Japan along with the more usual international destinations of Canada and western Europe. I even had an order from Yemen earlier this year. We have suppliers in Lithuania, Finland, Australia, UK, Canada, and even South Africa. I enjoy geography and used to enjoy international travel, so this is fun for me. Thanks for being a part of my business - I would not be here were it not for you.
I've had several people call and ask where they can get Susan O'Connor's new book "Monograms". I asked the publisher and here is that info: ......it is available from Stitchology https://www.stitchology.com.au/ . I did see a listing on Amazon.com for them, too.

Every year about this time, I try to find some 'goodie' for all of us. In years past, it has most often been chocolate of some sort, but this year I came upon something I'm really excited about - Copper Pot Caramels! What I especially like is that this company was started about 5 years ago by two young women who make these caramels themselves and... they do it right here in my town. I'm so excited to support local woman-owned businesses .Here's a link to their site and a short video that tells their story.
